I Love You in the Morning

By Emmy Rubin

Contributor

I love you in the morning,

When you dance in the bathroom

As you brush your teeth.

I love you in the afternoon,

When you sit alone outside

Reading a book under a tree

I love you in the evening,

When you get home and call your friends

On your pink rotary phone

But most of all -

I love you underneath the moon,

When I stand in the shadows of your room

As you sleep, at peace, but not alone.
